CINEMATIC OPENING

A single match flares in the dark. Rain lashes against cracked concrete. Somewhere in the gutted shell of Seoulโ€™s abandoned Gwangju Textile Factory, a man counts his breathsโ€”not to calm himself, but to prove heโ€™s still alive.

Han Joon-o (Lee Jea-wook) was once a rising star in the Seoul Metropolitan Policeโ€™s crisis negotiation unit. Three years ago, he walked into a hostage scene and walked out the sole survivorโ€”suspended, disgraced, and haunted by the face of the bomber who whispered, โ€œYou broke first.โ€

Now, Joon-o works graveyard security at a failing port warehouse. He doesnโ€™t talk. He doesnโ€™t negotiate. He just exists.

Until the night he receives an untraceable voice note: โ€œThereโ€™s a girl inside Factory 7. You have until sunrise to find her. Or she drowns.โ€

CENTRAL CONFLICT

The factory is a labyrinth of flooded basements, rusted catwalks, and rooms sealed by timed magnetic locks. The girlโ€”Yoo Ha-rin (16), a runaway and the only witness to a gang-affiliated murderโ€”is trapped in a rising water chamber. But the real trap is for Joon-o.

His tormentor is Kang Myung-ho, a dissolute former police psychologist who once mentored Joon-o. Disgraced himself for fabricating evidence, Kang now runs a twisted โ€œaccountability gameโ€ streamed on the dark webโ€”forcing broken people to atone for their perceived sins through elaborate, lethal puzzles. Ha-rin is bait. Joon-oโ€™s guilt is the weapon.

Every clue Joon-o deciphers forces him to relive the night he failed: the hostage who died because he hesitated, the lie he told to save his career, the silence he kept about a fellow officerโ€™s corruption. Kang doesnโ€™t want revenge. He wants confession. Live. For the world to see.

EMOTIONAL TENSION & TWIST

With 90 minutes left, Joon-o reaches the control roomโ€”only to find Kang dead at the console, a single bullet in his skull. A new voice crackles through the speakers: Lieutenant Shim Eun-ji, Joon-oโ€™s former partner and the officer whose corruption he protected. She was Kangโ€™s silent investor. And she has no intention of letting either Joon-o or Ha-rin leave.

โ€œYou were always the unbroken one, Joon-o,โ€ she says. โ€œLetโ€™s see how long that lasts when youโ€™re the one holding the trigger.โ€

She floods Ha-rinโ€™s chamber remotely. The only way to drain it is to manually override six valvesโ€”each located in a separate room rapidly filling with industrial coolant. Joon-o has twenty minutes. His lungs are already scarred from the first incident. One wrong choice, and Ha-rin dies. Another, and he drowns alone.

DRAMATIC ENDING

In the final valve room, chest-deep in freezing chemical water, Joon-o finds a seventh doorโ€”marked with his own police badge number. Behind it: the confession he never wrote. Kangโ€™s final test. Shim Eun-ji is watching.

Joon-o whispers into the camera: โ€œI break. But I donโ€™t stay broken.โ€

He turns not toward the confession, but toward the water. He will save Ha-rin first. And thenโ€”if he surfacesโ€”he will hunt.

The screen cuts to black. The sound of a single, swallowed breath. Then the title fades in:
